PYJAMA WATER SAFETY WEEK RECAP

soulroll 17/04/2023

During the week of Monday 20th March, BlueFit Swimming ran an entire week dedicated to teaching students basic water safety skills.

Here at BlueFit, we pride ourselves on keeping the local community safe and educating students about how to swim safely.

This year to help bring some fun to such a serious topic, our team encouraged students to come dressed in their pyjamas!

Throughout the week, our team of highly qualified instructors taught our students a specific water safety program. The program incorporated a range of aquatic survival skills and rescue techniques. The life-saving activities and education are ability appropriate ranging from a poolside ‘fall and recover to wall’ up to ‘land to water’ rescues and survival sequences.

Our team had so much fun and cannot thank our incredible family of students enough for their participation!

Check out some images from our Pyjama Water Safety Week below!

Introducing Mark:

Commonly referred to as Shrek, Mark is one of our incredible swimming instructors here at Bankstown.

Mark’s journey with BlueFit began in March 2022 where he fell in love with swim teaching straight away! He enjoys watching the students work hard and progressing from being nervous to step off the platform to being ready to swim anywhere and everywhere before they are even asked to. Mark thoroughly enjoys working with the local Bankstown community and getting to know everyone… Even when they say things like, “I can’t find Shrek to book a make-up class on the portal”.

In the wise words of Mark, “Keep peeling those onions kids, and I’ll see you for your next lesson!”.

Introducing Siham:

Siham is an amazing addition to the team. She works both in the pool and outside of it! Many of our members will know Siham from her classes or from behind the front desk. Siham is known for bringing a vibrant energy to the team with her infectious smile and good vibes. All of Siham’s students absolutely love her classes. Many have described them as ‘fun’ and rumour has it that they are filled with high fives!
